Save the date and place:

🗓 May 13th -15th, 2025

🌎 Kaunas – Lituania

Digital Twins hold the potential to fundamentally shift how we create and sustain our built environments, promising a more sustainable and resilient future reducing the carbon .

However, the adoption of this technology is still far from widespread, and significant challenges remain in realizing its full potential.

To make this vision a reality, we need to address key issues: interoperability, user experience, security, and the development of shared frameworks and ontologies.

In May 2025, the BDTIC5 will host a series of events focused on advancing the knowledge base and application of Digital Twins. These events are designed to gather a diverse array of perspectives to help advance this field into one that truly serves both, our cities and our communities.

We invite you to join our 3-day program:

  • May 13, 2025 – Brokerage Event on HE Cluster 4: Digital, Industry, and Space – organized by the SmartWins (head – Paris Fokaides) and SustAInLivWork (head – Agne Paulauskaite-Taraseviciene) projects, hosted by KTU. The detailed program will be announced in January 2025.
  • May 14, 2025 – The 5th Building Digital Twin International Congress (BDTIC5) with several Workshops and an Executive Program with round table sessions and Keynote speakers – organized by the BDTA (CEO – Eduard Loscos and GM – Elke Moors) and hosted by KTU. The detailed program will be announced in January 2025.
  • May 15, 2025 – The inaugural Building Digital Twin Scientific Conference (BDTSC2025) – facilitated by the SmartWins project, KTU and organized in partnership with the BDTA. For early-career researchers, a PhD Spring School will be held from May 19-23, focusing on rapid innovation in urban digital twin technology, in collaboration with Bentley Systems, KTU Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and KTU Centre for Smart Cities and Infrastructure.

Through this series of events, we’re looking to showcase examples of Digital Twin technology, engage with the unanswered questions in the field – from technical challenges to the broader societal implications of Digital Twins.

Hope to see many of you in Kaunas!
