At the Building Digital Twin Association (BDTA) we would like to thank ACTIG – Geoinformation in Catalonia for organising the Fòrum TISIG 2024 on November 20th, coinciding with the International Day of “Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The main purpose of the event was to provide an answer to the following question: “Digital Twins and Geoinformation: Is the Evolution of GIS the Digital Twin?”.
The event took place at the HQ of the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya and was organized in collaboration with the Col·legi Oficial d’Enginyeria Geomàtica i Topogràfica de Catalunya.
The forum brought together experts from various fields to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and highlight the crucial role of #geoinformation in simulation, modeling, and the development of digital twins.
The session emphasized how the integration of geoinformation with advanced technologies is driving new models that are transforming sectors such as urban planning, resource management, and environmental conservation.
Fòrum TIG SiG 2024 has firmly established itself as an essential platform to reflect on these advancements and to discuss the future of GIS in an increasingly digitized world.
