BDTA at Sustainable Places 2025: Real-time Simulation and Digital Building Permits

From 8 to 10 October 2025, the Building Digital Twin Association (BDTA) will participate in Sustainable Places 2025, to be held in Milan, Italy. Organized by R2M Solution – full members of BDTA – this event is one of Europe’s most important annual gatherings for research, innovation, and collaboration in the built environment. It brings together EU projects, industry leaders, and policymakers to address the challenges of sustainability, energy transition, and digitalisation.

BDTA Workshop Contribution

BDTA will host the workshop:

Real-time Simulation and Monitoring of Buildings: Hycool-IT Simbots in Data Centers

This session will showcase how real-time simulation and monitoring through digital twins can enhance the efficiency and resilience of data centers. The workshop will demonstrate:

  • How Hycool-IT Simbots are enabling dynamic energy optimization.
  • The role of Digital Building Permits (DBPs) in ensuring interoperability, compliance, and transparency across the lifecycle of construction projects.
  • Practical applications that bridge research, innovation, and real-world deployment.

The discussion will provide a platform for exchanging experiences between academia, industry, and public administrations, reinforcing BDTA’s mission of building a collaborative and interoperable ecosystem for digital twins in the built environment.

Looking Ahead

Sustainable Places is set to once again be a unique meeting point for the European research and innovation community. For BDTA, it will be an opportunity to showcase advances in digital twin technologies and digital permitting, while strengthening partnerships with European stakeholders committed to a smarter, greener, and more resilient built environment.
