The 19th of November took place the 10th Rehva Summit at Brussels. Participation of the BDTA was intended to have more links with this federation of associations along EU. The future dynamic energy performance for buildings will need new standards for real time and tested and certified mathematical models. Thank you to Pablo Carnero, Andrei Vladimir and Jarek Kurnitski for the time and your valuable experience. We hope to develop with Rehva associates these new digital twin standards!
Rehva is the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning associations, founded in 1963. It is an umbrella organization that represent over 120,000 HVAC engineers, building services engineers, technicians and experts across 25 European countries. The 2024 conference was exploring the alignment of policy and technical solutions to meet the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) goals and climate neutrality. It has covered innovations in improving Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) in European buildings, with a focus on energy efficiency and healthier environments.
Development of initial standards of mathematical models for HVAC is taking form at HycoolIT project. Originally based on a data center pilot (Polimi, IT), simulation components are tested to be able to configure a new ontology, called O4BSIM, which will be the basement of the libraries of several software developers. With those libraries software systems will be calculating responses in real time with the same mathematical models, providing a way to reinforce the monitoring and improved the operation. This methodology can be critical in systems with no operator, like buildings and non-industrial facilities.
